PRIZM is a full featured instrument with 6 oscillator channels, full effects section, dual step sequencers, arps, mixing section, low frequency oscillators (lfo), filters, eq and a complete modulation matrix. It is a tweakers dream machine!
The following is a brief breakdown of the various sections of the PRIZM Atmospheric Construction Synth:

This is the top bar in PRIZM. It lets you choose from the four oscillator channels (where you load each sampleset into) and two wave sequencer channels (where you can load as many as 32 samplesets per channel). This is also where you enact the wave sequencers, groove box and master mixer. Finally, this is also where you open the sampleset browser.

This is the envelope section (per oscillator and wave sequencer channel). This is where you define how a sampleset is to be played using the classic A/D/S/R envelope (attack, decay, sustain and release). This is also where you choose the velocity functions. |
This is where you alter the pitch, both coarse and fine tuning, of each sampleset. |

This is where you alter the zoning across the keyboard - pretty much where on your keyboard will a channel play. You can set this for each of the four oscillator channels and two wave sequencer channels. |
This is the equalizer section. You choose one of the four bands and then dial in the frequency and gain per band. |

This is the effects section. Here you choose up to two effects (such as reverb, delay, chorus, distortion, etc) as well as an insert effect. This is also where you define pitch bending, how many notes can play at once, the midi channel each channel works with and whether or not you will add unison (to make a sound fatter - GREAT for making HUGE pads, trance sounds and analog brass, for example). The glide knob allows you to add portamento.

The filters section allows you to add lowpass, highpass and bandpass filters to each channel and can be modulated via lfo's. |

The modulation envelope section lets you adjust how the lfo's modulate the mod matrix. You can edit the envelope, velocity, waveforms and more. This is a very powerful feature of PRIZM when combined with the modulation matrix.

The modulation matrix allows you to control the oscillators, wave sequencers, effects and more. With up to 6 rows and 6 pages to work with, you have massive power at your fingertips.

The XY pad allows you to play with any sampleset you define (via the mod matrix) by using a joystick or the mouse (or if your midi controller is equipped, you can use a vector joystick). |

This is the main mixer section of PRIZM. Like a real mixer, it allows you to adjust the volume, panning, effects and tuning of each channel, as well as adjust the master volume. Like everything else in PRIZM, all of the controls are MIDI controller learnable - so you can use your keyboard or control surface to edit PRIZM!

This is one of two wave sequencers. Here you can activate trance gates, arpeggiators, morphing and a whole lot more. This is probably the most powerful part of PRIZM and is integral in creating those long, undulating, evolving soundscapes.

This is the PRIZM integrated groovebox (drum machine). With it, you can create all kinds of percussive effects and loops that are tempo synced to your host as well as to PRIZM itself.

This is the bottom bar of PRIZM and allows you to access the preset browser as well as all system functions. The data window on the right lets you know precisely how much of what slider or knob you have dialed in.

This is PRIZM's powerful preset and sampleset browser. In this separate scrollable window, you can use the amazing search capabilities to find any kind of preset or sampleset you require. Considering the huge number of files that come with PRIZM, this feature alone is a true godsend. You can also save presets, sort and organize them as well as a myriad of other powerful and time savings capabilities that, once you use them, you will not know how you got along without them.

Make PRIZM your very own by customizing it with skins and other parameters, such as overall loudness and even micro tunings.

PRIZM has an integrated sample editor and key mapper, so you can record your own and place them for later playback. PRIZM loads .wav files, .sfz and wusikSND and dashSND formats.

Finally, the about box tells you what version you are running, shows the credits and other important information.
We hope we did a good job of showing you around the PRIZM interface and hope you will join the Hardcore Harmonics family. |
